Dreaming Ridiculously Big
Monday Sep 18, 2023
Monday Sep 18, 2023
Somewhere on our path from childhood into adulthood we lose our ability to dream big. As a kid, it was a no-brainer to say we wanted to be a professional athlete, a movie star, or an astronaut, and yet so many adults think they need to be more reasonable and practical as they get into the nitty gritty of adulthood.
I’m here to encourage you to rediscover your dreams. As humans, we have the ability to dream and to create. If we aren’t happy with our life path, WE can make changes! Too many people settle for what they ‘think’ their life is supposed to be like – or they talk themselves out of their bigger dreams – and they go through daily life unfulfilled and miserable.
If you can dream an idea, it’s yours to have. Take some time to use the journal prompts as they will help you create a vision for your life. For some people, goals themselves are not motivating. But if you remember the dream behind those goals, you’ll be motivated to take committed action.
Listen in as I share my own childhood dream and how it manifested in my life. Then come over to the Facebook group and share your own vision!
Journal Prompts:
- What do you want in life?
- What’s important to you?
- What are you dreaming about?
- What brings you joy and happiness?
- What is holding you back?
Quotes to Remember:
“Chase the things that matter most.”
“What good is a dream if you can’t turn it into a reality?”

The Four Agreements to Make with Yourself
Monday Sep 11, 2023
Monday Sep 11, 2023
Have you ever been so moved by a book that you want to tell everyone you know to read it? That’s how I feel about The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by Don Manuel Ruiz.
This book definitely falls under the Personal Development genre but it’s a short, easy read and focuses on achievement in all areas of your life. Absolutely everyone can make these agreements with themselves – there are no prerequisites needed – and you’ll be on the path to living a high-level, fulfilling, spiritual life.
While these agreements might seem simplistic, making them a part of your everyday life can be a challenge, especially nowadays when we’re all so busy with balancing careers with our personal lives. But this book is not meant to change your life overnight. Quite the contrary; you might need to take a few baby steps to get started and that’s OK. Awareness is a recurring theme in this book, so that might be your first step: being aware that you’re capable of making changes and living your best life.
Forgiveness and action are other themes that bear mentioning. So often we are our hardest critics but learning how to forgive ourselves for past mistakes is paramount to learning the lessons from those mistakes. And action is vitally important to achieving your goals. It’s not enough to think and dream of what you want. Without action, we can’t get results.
I dive a lot deeper into each of the four agreements in this episode and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Share your insights in our Monday Morning Mojo Facebook group.

Monday Sep 04, 2023
Monday Sep 04, 2023
Are you near the point of burning out at work? Burnout simply means when you feel depleted, have loss of energy and brain fog. It’s hard to focus or even find your motivation to get out of bed in the morning. Burnout is quite the opposite of mojo, which is your best energy. When you find your mojo, you regain your confidence, enthusiasm, and inspiration.
So, what are you doing to prevent burnout? Burnout is a real risk for nearly everyone, so don’t think you’re immune. Whether you have a corporate career, a midlevel management job, or are an entrepreneur, taking care of your physical and mental health to avoid burnout is paramount in today’s busy world.
I get it…it’s a vicious cycle. You want to succeed and we’ve trained ourselves that in order to succeed we need to do more, often to the detriment of our health or relationships. But I encourage you to take a few minutes for yourself today and really think about what you can do differently to put yourself FIRST. You take so much time to care for others; when will YOU get to the top of your list?
Listen in for my 8 tips to avoid burnout.
Quotes to remember:
“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Navigating Relationships with Difficult People
Monday Aug 28, 2023
Monday Aug 28, 2023
We all know by now that stress is harmful to our bodies and we should lessen the stress in our everyday lives. But what happens when you have difficult people in your life? It’s one thing to walk away from a rude cashier at the grocery store but much more difficult if that person is a family member or coworker.
A word of encouragement: It is impossible to live a stress-free life. As hard as you try, there will be various levels of stress every day, even if you’re relaxing at home. So, don’t try to aim for perfection by going for stress-free. Instead, learn how to handle the difficult people so your reaction to situations or comments doesn’t elevate your blood pressure so much.
I wish this episode would give you the magic pill to make you a pro at dealing with difficult people but it really takes introspection and work on your part. However, the more you practice these steps, the easier it will become to shift away from stress when dealing with difficult people or situations.
In this episode, I’ll walk you through the steps of learning how to interpret a stressful situation and what makes a difficult person (hint: everyone has a different opinion about this). We’ll also talk about staying calm and neutral in stressful situations. Logic makes us think; emotions make us act. We want to remain logical but that will take some practice.
One last thing to remember…this is not about winning or being right. Chances are that you won’t win over this difficult person. But getting to a neutral place and being unattached to the outcome is preferable to an emotional reaction that might make the situation worse.
Quotes to remember:
“Who we are today is a result of all of our programming.” ~ Anna Gibbs
“If you let a toxic situation or person get out of control, it will steal your joy.”
“Complaining is a garbage magnet.”
“Disappointment comes from unmanaged expectations.”

Remember this formula:
E + r = o {Event + response = (your) outcome}
Quick Tips for Relieving Stress:
Rub your ear lobes in a circular motion.
Place 1 hand on your forehead and 1 at the base of your neck and take deep breaths to remain calm.

Easy Strategies to Move Out of Your Comfort Zone
Monday Aug 21, 2023
Monday Aug 21, 2023
How do you know when you’re in your comfort zone? Do you ever pay attention or think about if you’re working and living to your full potential? Or are you just coasting along, following the status quo and enjoying life?
Every human alive has a comfort zone. It’s that space where things come easily, life is predictable, and the idea of making changes makes your palms sweat. Surprisingly, many people move through life just accepting every day as it comes, without the desire to grow or explore how they can learn and achieve more.
Some older parents or grandparents actually get insulted at the idea of self-improvement, as if you’re not grateful for the life you’ve been given. Quite the opposite is true. Self-improvement is a natural part of human evolution and we actually have the power to create changes in any area of our life where we’re not satisfied. Many people go through their whole lives not understanding that power.
This might sound like a heavy topic but it’s an important one, especially if you feel you’re not reaching the goals you’ve set for yourself.
Keep in mind that comfort zones appear in every aspect of our lives. Career is the obvious one but it also shows up in our finances and relationships, too.
In this episode, we’re talking about the 4 stages of moving through your comfort zone into a new way of being. Be sure to take notes and be honest with yourself as you answer the questions. There’s no shame, blame, or guilt. We all have different journeys, we’ll face different hurdles, and we’ll have a different timeframe for breaking free of our comfort zones.
The most important thing is to be consistent with your actions and be willing to learn throughout the process. Remember, we don't develop our confidence and skillset when things are easy.
Journal prompts:
What holds me back from consistency?
Am I ready and willing to see new opportunities for amazing things to happen?
What can I do that’s new this week?
What can I learn?
In which area of my life do I feel most stuck?
Which of my current habits are not serving me right now?
Quotes to remember:
"What you don't acknowledge, you can't fix. Your awareness is your power."
“Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.”
“This process is about progress, not perfection.”
"It's not about someone's approval; it's about OUR achievement."
“Your brain learns through the struggle. It wants to be challenged.”
“Stop focusing on 'having' ... focus on the 'being' and 'doing'.”

How to Break Through the Biggest Hurdles Keeping You From Your Dream Life
Monday Aug 14, 2023
Monday Aug 14, 2023
Let’s continue the talk about authenticity this week. This is such an important topic because understanding authenticity is the key to living your life on purpose. Instead of following the path of least resistance, a purposeful life is creating your own path, no matter what others think.
Think about your own life’s journey. Have you been a people pleaser your whole life, doing what you thought you were supposed to do? For many that’s earning a college degree, getting married, buying a house, and having children. Think about your coworkers. Do they live for the weekends and vacations or are they happy with their career choice?
What many people don’t understand is when we follow someone else’s path, we’re cheating ourselves. Only WE are responsible for our own authenticity – for showing the world our gifts – and if we are unhappy, it’s up to US to make intentional changes.
What does an authentic life look like for you? The journey has to start with ourselves, from within, by identifying our most important values. This is a great journaling exercise because you can dream big. There are no right or wrong answers; we can live as big as our imaginations allow us to dream. What is stopping you from stepping into your power and showing the world exactly who you are?
Quotes to remember:
"The only thing holding you back is your own imagination." Anna Gibbs
"As big as you can think is as big as you can live." Anna Gibbs
"When we stop hiding our talents and gifts from other people, we don't need to struggle to fit in." Anna Gibbs

Keys to Living an Authentic Life Everyday
Monday Aug 07, 2023
Monday Aug 07, 2023
Authenticity is a popular word that is thrown around a lot these days but do you really know what it means to be authentic?
Believe it or not, it’s NOT about being perfect. You don’t need to portray the perfect image or lifestyle. Most of the social media posts on Instagram that show the “perfect” families, houses or vacations are not even real. Most often they are photo shoots designed to capture the right lighting and angles.
Being authentic on social media is posting the behind the scenes photo that shows your messy kitchen or the kids throwing a tantrum instead of posing perfectly.
Being authentic with your relationships means being vulnerable and willing to share your true self. Authenticity is about ditching your people pleasing ways, voicing your ideas and opinions in a meeting, and dressing any which way you want without worrying about what other people think.
We’re diving DEEP this week and exploring what it means to ditch our masks and allowing the world to see our true selves. Listen until the end of the episode because I also include some ways to know if you’re NOT being authentic and I bet a lot of us can relate to at least one of those signs.
Keep in mind that this type of mindset change doesn’t happen overnight. Allowing your authentic self to shine takes time and lots of practice.
But there’s no better time to begin these baby steps than today.
